About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Practice Nurse Manager to join our Ballarat Medical Centre in a permanent full-time position.

This hands-on leadership role will see you manage and support a team of nurses while overseeing the efficient day-to-day operation of the treatment room. Working closely with the Practice Manager, you’ll develop clinical staff, maintain high standards of care and ensure patients consistently receive safe, efficient and compassionate healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, support and effectively manage the nursing team.
• Oversee the daily operation, workflow and staffing of the treatment room.
• Coach, train and mentor nurses to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes.
• Deliver and coordinate a range of clinical procedures when required.
• Ensure patient care meets clinical standards and best-practice procedures.
• Assist GPs with health assessments, GP management plans and reviews.
• Maintain a safe, organised and well-equipped clinical environment.
• Partner with the Practice Manager to understand operational and financial performance and manage the nursing team accordingly.
• Promote a positive, collaborative and patient-focused team culture.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous experience in general practice, primary healthcare or an acute clinical setting.
• Demonstrated leadership and people-management experience.
• Strong organisational, prioritisation and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and patient-service skills.
• A supportive, approachable and confident leadership style.
• A genuine passion for developing people and improving patient outcomes.
