About the role
The Company
Approach has been engaged by a well-regarded organisation working across civil infrastructure and development projects. Acting on behalf of their clients, they oversee the delivery of works on site, ensuring contractors build to specification and meet their quality, safety and compliance obligations.
Rather than delivering the works yourself, you represent the organisation on site and hold the head contractor to the standard the project requires.
The Role
This is a site-based position with set hours, focused on monitoring head contractor compliance and WHS requirements on behalf of the client. You will be observing works as they progress, checking that construction is carried out to the approved design and specification, and keeping clear records of activity, quality and safety on site.
For an experienced foreman, this is a genuine change of pace. The defined remit offers a step back from the pressure and long hours of running a crew, while still drawing on the site knowledge you have built over a career in civil construction.
What You Need
The expectation is that you will have a solid background in civil construction, having worked on civil projects such as roads, drainage, earthworks and subdivisions. You will know what good construction looks like on the ground and be confident holding a contractor to account.
Besides the above, you'll ideally have experience in a foreman or site supervision capacity, along with a strong understanding of WHS requirements and site compliance. Relevant construction tickets and qualifications will be well regarded.
On Offer
A site-based role with consistent hours and a clear, focused remit. For the right person, it is an opportunity to stay close to the work you know while stepping away from the demands of frontline delivery.
