Customer Communications Officer

We're looking for a Customer Communications Officer to help tell our story, support our customers and strengthen trust in one of Victoria's most essential services. In this role, you'll create engaging communications that help customers navigate everything from major outages and severe weather events to the energy transition shaping Australia's future.

Why this role?

This is far more than a traditional communications position.

You'll be at the centre of AusNet's customer communications function, influencing how customers engage with our brand across websites, social media, video, email, SMS and customer campaigns. You'll help shape customer experiences, improve energy literacy and deliver communications that make a genuine difference when customers need us most.

What you'll be doing in this role:

You'll partner with teams across the business to:Create engaging content across digital, social, email, web and customer channels.Turn technical and complex information into clear, accessible communications.Manage and grow AusNet's social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.Develop paid social campaigns that build awareness and community engagement.Produce compelling video content, from filming and editing through to publishing.Support communications during significant network incidents, severe weather events and outages.Add clarity, accessibility and trust to customer interactions.

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:
Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills.A passion for creating engaging digital and customer-focused content.Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.Excellent organisation and project management abilities.A proactive mindset and strong problem-solving capability.Experience with social media platforms, digital communications or content creation tools, or a willingness to learn.
