Your Role

Are you a passionate people leader who thrives in community-focused environments and wants to make a meaningful impact across the Metro region? An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced and values-driven leader to join the Membership, Volunteer and Early Intervention Directorate as the Vinnies Vans Team Leader, Metro. This role is central to supporting and strengthening Vinnies Vans operations across the metropolitan region, helping ensure our services continue to provide dignity, connection and practical support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Working collaboratively with Van Coordinators, volunteers, staff and community stakeholders, you will help lead a highly visible and impactful service that engages thousands of volunteers and supports communities every day.

Your Responsibility

• Supporting the day-to-day operations of Metro Vinnies Vans services
• Leading and supporting Van Coordinators, volunteers and staff
• Building strong relationships with community groups, schools, corporate organisations and government stakeholders
• Supporting volunteer engagement, onboarding, compliance and training initiatives
• Driving community engagement opportunities and corporate activations
• Monitoring budgets, purchasing and operational resources
• Coordinating reporting, service data analysis and stakeholder communications
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of statewide strategic priorities
• Ensuring compliance with WHS, food handling and operational requirements
• Facilitating Metro team meetings, collaboration and team-building opportunities

You Will Need:

• Strong leadership and relationship management capabilities
• Experience managing or supporting staff and volunteers
• Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills
• Confidence presenting to stakeholders and facilitating engagement opportunities
• A sound understanding of homelessness and trauma-informed approaches
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
• Experience working across multiple stakeholders and priorities
• Confidence using digital systems and reporting tools
• Knowledge of WHS and compliance obligations
• A current unrestricted driver licence and confidence driving larger vehicles

Experience within the not-for-profit or volunteer sector will be highly regarded.
