Cadet/Graduate Surveyor

About the role

Wilson Survey Group is seeking a Cadet/Graduate Surveyor to join our growing team in Emerald, Queensland. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to launch your surveying career in the mining, resources and energy sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining practical experience in surveying operations whilst developing the technical skills essential for a successful career in this dynamic industry. Based in Emerald QLD 4720, you will have the chance to work on diverse projects across the region's mining and resources landscape.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting field surveys and measurements on mining sites, collecting accurate data using modern surveying equipment and technology

• Assisting in the preparation of survey plans, reports and technical documentation

• Learning and applying surveying methodologies and best practices under the guidance of senior surveyors

• Utilising surveying software to process and analyse survey data

• Supporting the establishment and maintenance of survey control points and benchmarks

• Liaising with clients, site managers and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met

• Ensuring all work complies with relevant surveying standards, regulations and safety protocols

• Contributing to project planning and participating in site inspections

What we're looking for
****** A recent graduate or cadet with a qualification in surveying or a related discipline, or currently studying towards one

• Knowledge of surveying principles, techniques and equipment, with practical field experience preferred

• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately under pressure

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to learn and develop professionally

• A valid driver's licence

• Sound understanding of health and safety requirements in the mining and resources sector

• Physical fitness and capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• A keen interest in advancing within the surveying profession and commitment to professional development
