Sales Asssistant/Tyre Technician

About the role

Mareeba Tyrepower is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sales Assistant/Tyre Technician to join our team in Mareeba, QLD. This is a full-time position based at our Mareeba location (QLD 4880). In this hybrid role, you will combine customer service excellence with technical tyre expertise, supporting both our retail operations and workshop activities. You will be instrumental in delivering outstanding customer experiences whilst maintaining the high standards our clients expect from a professional tyre service provider.

What you'll be doing

• Providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers, understanding their tyre and automotive needs, and recommending suitable products and services

• Assisting with tyre sales, including discussing tyre options, pricing, and product features to support customers in making informed decisions

• Supporting tyre technicians with workshop activities, including tyre fitting, balancing, repairs and maintenance work

• Maintaining a clean and organised workshop and retail environment, ensuring all equipment and tools are properly stored and maintained

• Processing customer transactions accurately, managing payments, and maintaining detailed customer records

• Handling inventory management, including stock rotation, ordering supplies and maintaining accurate records of tyre stock and parts

• Communicating effectively with customers regarding service updates, pricing and product availability

• Assisting with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, answering phones and responding to customer enquiries

• Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards and company policies at all times

What we're looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience, ideally in the automotive or tyre industry

• A genuine passion for customer service and a commitment to delivering positive customer experiences

• Basic mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn tyre and vehicle maintenance fundamentals

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse customers

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Physical fitness and willingness to perform hands-on work, including lifting and handling tyres and equipment

• Reliability and punctuality with a professional approach to work

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills with proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and computers

• A current driver's licence (preferred)

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in tyre fitting or automotive service (preferred but not essential)
