Digital Operator (training will be provided) - 1 year + potential 1 year contract

Position Description:

We are looking for a number of computer operators with experience in the use of, or exposure to, various digital scanning equipment, and/or a good understanding or aptitude for working with scanning equipment would also qualify you for one of the digital scanning operator positions working on a major client assignment.

Your skills will be applied to projects relating to the preservation of significant heritage information which may include documents, books, registers, negatives, and photographs.

We have a number of opportunities for enthusiastic individuals with the additional opportunity to learn new skills or upskill in areas relative to the conversion of hard copy records to digital content.

Although digital reproduction and image capture experience is advantageous, if you have work experience in a hands-on role in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment, your application will be strongly considered.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and scanning of documents and or other material i.e. negatives, photographs etc…

• Monitoring image quality as part of an overall quality assurance process.

• Meeting and exceeding the required KPI.

• Effectively communicating with Team Leader and/or Production Manager.

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday

• Day Shift (7am - 3pm)

• Afternoon Shift (3pm to 11.15pm)

The following criteria are needed to be successful in this role:

• able to commit at a minimum of 90% attendance rate

• a keen eye for detail to create and ensure a quality result.

• background in various aspects of digital imaging and or photography understanding

• knowledge of Capture One or similar capture software (preferred, but not essential)

• ability to acquire strong digital file management skills.

• excellent written and verbal communication skills

• able to work independently without supervision.

• a "Can Do" attitude with a professional approach to resolving issues.

• The ability to perform ongoing repetitive tasks for the entirety of the shift.
