Smallgoods Maker

About the role

Preparing cuts of meat for seasoning and curing to produce smallgoods, operating machines to grind, mix and tenderise meat, and making seasonings by mixing spices, salt and other ingredients. Operating filling machines and smoking chambers, processing and packaging finished smallgoods for distribution. Planning and scheduling work and assisting the management team in estimation of production, costing production and monitoring the cleanliness of rooms, and checking stockholding and preparing requisitions.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing cuts of meat for seasoning and curing to produce smallgoods

• Operating machines to grind, mix and tenderise meat

• Making seasonings by mixing spices, salt and other ingredients

• Operating filling machines and smoking chambers

• Processing and packaging finished smallgoods for distribution

• Planning and scheduling work and assisting the management team in estimation of production

• Costing production and monitoring the cleanliness of rooms

• Checking stockholding and preparing requisitions

About you

• Minimum of three years experience in the trade

• Willing to work as part of a team

• Great communication skills

• Enthusiasm for the industry

• Good hygiene and attention to detail

• Smallgoods Manufacturing: 3 years (required)

• Work Authorisation: Australia (preferred)

• Able to reliably commute to or relocate to Jamisontown NSW 2750 (preferred)
