The General Medicine Fellow role is a leadership position suited to an applicant who has preferably finished their Advanced Training in General and Acute Care Medicine. 

The Fellow role provides the opportunity to consolidate the skills required to work as a consultant with support from specialists in the department. There is also opportunity to develop specific areas of interest, including research, education and point of care ultrasound. 

Core responsibilities include coordinating and participating in unit meetings, mentoring junior medical staff, liaising with medical workforce, and regularly communicating with the General Medicine leadership team. Potential applicants should be enthusiastic about creating a supportive work environment and should have excellent communication and organisational skills.
