Bourke Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (BACHS) is seeking a passionate and experienced Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Manager to lead and grow culturally safe, community-driven wellbeing programs that create lasting change for Aboriginal people and families in Bourke and surrounding communities.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where your work will directly influence community outcomes, strengthen service delivery, and support healing, resilience and empowerment.

Opportunity to innovate, grow programs and build strong community partnerships
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the SEWB Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across BACHS’ Social and Emotional Wellbeing programs and services. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team delivering culturally safe programs that support individuals, families and the wider community.
You’ll be responsible for:
Leading and mentoring SEWB staff and contractors
Driving community engagement initiatives and wellbeing programs
Strengthening partnerships with community organisations and government agencies
Managing program delivery, budgets, reporting and funding requirements
Supporting strategic growth and innovation across SEWB services
Ensuring services are culturally safe, community-informed and outcomes-focused
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in community, values collaboration and is passionate about improving Aboriginal health and wellbeing outcomes.
About youYou are a values-driven leader with experience in health, mental health, allied health or community services, ideally within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or similar environment.
You will bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, mental health, health, wellness or related discipline
AHPRA registration or Accredited Mental Health Care provider
Strong leadership and people management skills
Experience managing programs, budgets and funding agreements
Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills
A genuine commitment to culturally safe and community-led service delivery
