Cocktail Barman

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cocktail Barman to join the team at Ironbar Saloon in Port Douglas, QLD. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your mixology skills and create memorable experiences for our guests. As a key member of our bar team, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional cocktails, maintaining outstanding customer service standards, and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that defines Ironbar Saloon. This role is based on-site in Port Douglas and requires a passion for hospitality and a dedication to excellence in every drink you pour.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide variety of cocktails, spirits, beers, and other beverages to the highest standard

• Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and providing menu recommendations

• Maintain accurate records of sales and handle cash or card transactions responsibly

• Keep the bar area clean, organised and well-stocked with all necessary ingredients and supplies

• Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock requirements to management

• Comply with all relevant licensing laws and responsible service of alcohol guidelines

• Work collaboratively with other bar staff and front-of-house team members

• Contribute to the overall atmosphere and entertainment value of the venue

• Follow health and safety regulations and maintain excellent personal hygiene standards

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Cocktail Barman or similar bartending role in a hospitality setting

• Comprehensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beers, including mixing techniques and presentation

• Strong flair bartending skills and the ability to engage customers with showmanship

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods

• Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it

• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures

• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work

• A positive attitude and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
