As part of the People & Performance team, you’ll be working to enhance the employee experience and collaborating with various industry bodies to stay updated on best practices and provide valuable data for research purposes.

About the Opportunity

Join ARTC in a specialist role where you'll play an important part in supporting our people following workplace injury and helping them achieve safe and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

You'll manage workers compensation claims, rehabilitation and return-to-work activities across ARTC, working closely with employees, leaders, Comcare, and other internal & external stakeholders.

This role is ideal for an experienced workers compensation or injury management professional who enjoys managing claims end-to-end, building trusted relationships and achieving positive outcomes for both employees and the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage workers compensation claims and workplace injury matters from initial notification through to resolution and return to work.
  
• Provide timely support to injured employees and their leaders, ensuring appropriate medical assessment and treatment is arranged.
  
• Coordinate and monitor rehabilitation programs in consultation with employees, leaders, medical professionals and rehabilitation providers.
  
• Partner with leaders to proactively manage workplace injuries and achieve safe and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
  
• Maintain regular contact with injured employees throughout their recovery and return-to-work journey.
  
• Liaise with Comcare, payroll and other internal and external stakeholders to support effective claims management.
  
• Manage workers compensation documentation, leave processes, reimbursements and associated records accurately and within required timeframes.
  
• Ensure privacy, record keeping and other statutory obligations are consistently met.
  
• Provide workers compensation, rehabilitation and return-to-work reporting as required.
  
• Review existing claims management and rehabilitation processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  
• Contribute to broader Employee Relations initiatives and provide support as required.
  
• Provide support and education to the business on process and roles and responsibilities.
  

What do we want from you?

To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:

• Extensive experience in workers compensation claims management, injury management and rehabilitation.
  
• Experience in an employer-based injury management and return to work role is desirable.
  
• A strong track record of improving return to-work and claims resolution outcomes.
  
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant Federal WHS legislation and regulations.
  
• Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, leaders, rehabilitation providers and external stakeholders.
  
• The ability to manage competing priorities and provide both proactive and responsive advice.
  
• Strong judgement, discretion and professionalism when managing sensitive and confidential matters.
  
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
