About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and dedicated Case Manager to join our Women & Children Services team. In this rewarding role, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of women, children and families by providing high-quality, person-centred case management.
The Role
The Case Manager provides trauma-informed, family-centred case management and outreach support to women and children experiencing homelessness as a result of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) and residing in crisis and transitional accommodation.
Working collaboratively with Marymead CatholicCare managers, case managers, DFSV and cultural specialists, key partners and community services, the role provides holistic support focused on safety, recovery, empowerment and housing stability. The Case Manager undertakes comprehensive risk assessments, safety planning, case management and service coordination to reduce harm, prevent further violence and support women and children to recover from the impacts of DFSV.
The role supports families with complex needs, including engagement with housing, legal, child protection and other specialist systems, while promoting cultural safety and connection to family, community and culture. Through early intervention, advocacy, information, education, referral and strong partnerships, the role aims to reduce homelessness, strengthen family wellbeing and support sustainable pathways to safe and stable living.
Each Case Manager will manage a caseload of approximately 10–12 families, with caseloads adjusted according to complexity and acuity. This is a community and home-based outreach position requiring strong time management, administration and case management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and effective collaboration within a small, multidisciplinary team.
This is a full-time role with an expectation to participate in a rotating, after hours on-call roster, with additional remuneration provided for all on-call shifts.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in case management or outreach support in DFSV, homelessness, or related sectors.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed and family-centred practice.
Experience working with women and children from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Ability to work independently across multiple sites and in partnership with external agencies.
Excellent communication, advocacy, and organisational skills.
Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration
Current National Police Check
Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Note: Due to genuine occupational requirements under Division 4.2, Section 34, (2)(j) of the Discrimination Act 1991, this position is open to female applicants only.
