We are seeking an experienced Design Coordinator (based in Rhodes NSW) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys combining design expertise, compliance knowledge, client engagement, and team leadership to deliver outstanding project outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join our high‑performing team and contribute to the delivery of high‑quality technical design, documentation, and compliance outcomes across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with builders, architects, consultants, and internal stakeholders to coordinate design documentation, review technical details, and support the development of accurate, compliant, and well‑structured project deliverables. Your work will play a key part in ensuring design clarity, technical consistency, and smooth project progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review waterproofing design reports and material selection assessments

• Mark up design documentation and develop detailed technical drawings and construction details

• Prepare compliance reports and performance-based design briefs

• Attend project meetings and technical workshops with clients and stakeholders

• Review project documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and building codes

• Oversee team workflow and project coordination activities

• Maintain accurate document control, record management, and filing systems

• Respond to internal and external technical queries regarding design documentation and revisions

• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and quality service delivery

• Stay current with changes to Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and waterproofing best practices
  

About You

• Highly organised and technically capable, with strong experience in design coordination, compliance, and construction documentation

• Exceptional attention to detail, delivering accurate, compliant, and high‑quality work within project deadlines

• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills

• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain reliable project delivery

• Builds strong relationships with clients and project teams through clear, proactive communication

• Committed to continuous improvement and professional development

• Enjoys mentoring junior team members and contributing to overall team success

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience

• Ongoing professional development relevant to waterproofing, design, or building compliance

• Strong knowledge of AS4654.1, AS4858 and the National Construction Code (NCC) Vol 1 & 2

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in design coordination, building consultancy, waterproofing consultancy, or a similar role

• Experience with AutoCAD (2D and 3D) desirable

• Strong experience using Bluebeam Revu and project management software

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy

• Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities

• Experience mentoring, training, and supporting junior team members

• Strong stakeholder and client relationship management skills
