Graduate Lawyer

Et Al is a fresh law firm incorporating Atticus Lawyers and Sinclair + May. We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and driven law graduate to join our small team, working with us across commercial + employment law and litigation matters.  

About us. 

Et Al is new, but our practices are not.

Alex is a commercial lawyer and litigator, and Allie is a commercial and employment lawyer.

Our clients are businesses who value clear, strategic advice and assistance – they don’t come to us for pontification, multi-page letters of advice or ‘it depends’. They come for clarity and direction, and to be understood.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do take our work seriously, and we respect that our clients do too.

We work from our bricks and mortar office in Fitzroy – mainly because we enjoy the company and actually like Going To Work. We'd like if you joined us, at least some of the time.

About the role.

This is a part time role (4 days a week) which can be based entirely in our Brunswick Street office, or partly in office, partly from home. 

You will be working directly with our principals, and you must be comfortable multi-tasking and working in a small team.  We will provide a welcoming, supportive work environment where you can get your hands dirty, and give you opportunities to work on lots of different and interesting matters.

About you.

For us, culture is pretty much everything. We believe in working hard, but we also believe in work/life balance, and about cultivating a comfortable work environment where we get the best from each other.

We appreciate that you are a graduate and may not bring loads (or perhaps any) experience in a law firm. We can teach you the real-world legal skills you will need and give you the kind of exposure that you'd never get in a large firm, but we can't teach smarts or personality. 

You must be sensible, friendly and switched on, with excellent communication skills. You must be able to think commercially and practically, and problem solve. You must be able to write.
