The Peel Community Mental Health Service is seeking a passionate Welfare Officer to join our team.

This is a permanent part-time appointment 45.6 hours per fortnight.

Position Profile and Role

The Welfare Officer assesses and prioritise consumers' welfare needs and provide direct assistance to access benefits and other requirements. You will liaise with government and other service providers to provide necessary assistance. You will also work in conjunction with the Adult Community Treatment and the Assertive Treatment multidisciplinary teams in providing a comprehensive social welfare service for consumers.

Applicants may be appointed to either a Level G3 or Level G4 classification, across the advertised salary range, based on their relevant skills and experience, as recognised by the employer.

Across Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Mental Health (FSFH Mental Health) and Peel and Rockingham Kwinana Mental Health (PaRK Mental Health), specialist services are provided across the South Metropolitan region, supporting consumers with accessible, collaborative and high-quality mental health care.   SMHS Mental Health will soon open a new state-of-the-art facility at Fremantle Hospital designed to offer expanded and modern mental health services for our community. The three-storey space will provide an additional 40 mental health beds and a 24-hour Mental Health Crisis Centre, ensuring compassionate and innovative care for those who need it most.
