The Role 

You will need

• Demonstrated knowledge, at least commensurate with experience, and interest in psychiatry.
• Demonstrated aptitude and academic ability to undertake specialist training in psychiatry.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary setting.
• Good written and verbal communication and liaison skills.

Details of appointment

fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until date 1 February 2030. 

You will receive 10 hours of paid, protected training time per fortnight, pro rata.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary 

Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $138,978 - $194,675 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging (delete as applicable)

• Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025

In addition, the following allowances and benefit, calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: 

• Direction and supervision for all clinical work is through the Team Leader (Consultant Psychiatrist) for the team to which the registrar is allocated.

• Professionally accountable to the Director of Training and the Registrar Training Committee for Training Requirements.
