About the role
Your Role as an Allied Health Assistant
As an Allied Health Assistant at Hummingbird House, you will support the delivery of person-centred health and wellbeing programs by assisting Allied Health Clinicians with individual and group interventions, monitoring client progress, and contributing to positive outcomes as part of a multidisciplinary team.
This rewarding role provides the opportunity to support children with life-limiting conditions and their families, helping deliver compassionate, holistic care in a specialist paediatric palliative care environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting Allied Health Clinicians in delivering individual and group therapy programs to support children and families receiving palliative care services.
Preparing therapy sessions, resources and equipment, and provide supervision and support to participants during activities.
Monitoring client progress and provide feedback to Allied Health Clinicians to support ongoing care planning.
Delivering education, guidance and support to clients, families, carers and support workers under the direction of Allied Health Clinicians.
Building positive, professional relationships with children, families and multidisciplinary team members to ensure a high standard of person-centred care.
Maintaining accurate records, manage clinical resources and equipment, and support a safe, clean and welcoming therapy environment.
Contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team while complying with quality, safety, infection control and workplace health requirements.
This is a part-time position consisting of 30 hours per week.

What We’re Looking For
Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent), or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar allied health support role.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, follow clinical direction, and manage competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal, written communication and record-keeping skills, with experience maintaining accurate client documentation and data entry.
Essential Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
