Fitter Machinist / Toolmaker (Post-Trade / Entry Level)

We are seeking a trade-qualified Fitter Machinist / Toolmaker to join our Toolroom and Maintenance team at our Mortdale manufacturing site.

This is a post-trade, entry-level role suited to recently qualified tradespeople looking to build their experience in tooling, machining and manufacturing.

You will work alongside experienced tradespeople and be involved in maintaining, repairing and improving tooling and equipment across the site.

You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced Toolmakers and Engineering Tradespeople while building your career in manufacturing.

This role suits someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and working in a manufacturing environment.

• Pay rates – $45 to $50 per hour under our EBA, with annual wage increases

• Toolmaking and fitting work in a manufacturing environment

• Maintenance and repair of press tools and machinery

• Fitting, setting and adjusting machinery and equipment

• Assisting with fault finding and repairs on machinery and tooling

• Manufacture, modify, and repair tooling used in production

• Working closely with production and maintenance teams

• Working alongside experienced tradespeople and learning new skills

• Maintaining housekeeping and safety standards at all times

• Trade-qualified Toolmaker, Fitter Machinist or Mechanical Tradesperson

  • Certificate III – Mechanical Trade or

  • Certificate III – Toolmaking Trade (or equivalent)

• No post-trade experience required

• Recently qualified tradespeople are encouraged to apply

• Eager to learn and develop specialist tooling and machining skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

• Reliable, practical and safety-focused

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
