Senior Pricing Actuary – 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Pricing Actuary to join Avant on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

This is a key leadership role responsible for leading Avant’s pricing and portfolio management capability, while providing high-quality actuarial analysis, advice and recommendations across the broader business.

Working closely with the Head of Pricing and Advanced Analytics, you will help shape Avant’s approach to pricing and portfolio management, drive technical excellence and provide strategic insights that support sustainable growth and effective insurance management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing actuarial and analytics team.
• Manage, coach and develop junior team members and foster strong internal stakeholder relationships.
• Lead Avant’s approach to technical support for pricing and portfolio management, including reporting, monitoring and analysis.
• Deliver actuarial analysis and performance monitoring to support product pricing, portfolio optimisation and risk intervention outcomes.
• Provide technically sound actuarial advice and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Prepare pricing and portfolio management analysis and reporting.
• Ensure consistency and transparency across pricing, analytics, portfolio management, claims monitoring, reserving, budgeting and capital management.
• Support the Medical Indemnity Division to drive sustainable portfolio growth and effectively manage claims costs.
• Contribute to broader actuarial projects and strategic initiatives across Avant.

About You

You will be an experienced actuary with strong expertise in general insurance pricing and portfolio management, alongside proven leadership capability.
