Commercial Manager

Golding is currently seeking a Commercial Manager to be based on site at South Walker Creek Mining project.  Reporting to the General Manager Mining, the successful candidate will provide leadership in the management, governance and optimisation of the project’s commercial, contractual and financial performance. The roster for this role will operate on nine-day fortnightly roster (5-2 | 4-3).

Flights from Brisbane, meals and camp accommodation will be provided for this role.

Key role tasks: 

• Lead the site commercial and administration teams to ensure disciplined cost control, accurate forecasting and strong commercial governance.

• Work with Department Leads to provide contractual and commercial advice and support relating to Golding’s contractual scope of work, vendor contracts, finance and purchasing activities;

• Own the integrity and accuracy of project budgets, forecasts, cost reporting and financial submissions to Golding and the Client.

• Work constructively with the client for mutual benefit; and

• Perform the work required of your position under the South Walker Creek Mine Management Structure.

Key capability requirements: 

• Tertiary qualifications in a related field are highly preferred;

• Demonstrated experience administering major mining or infrastructure contracts in an operational environment;

• Proven capability in cost control systems, project forecasting and commercial risk management;

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex commercial issues concurrently in a dynamic site environment;

• Experience in coal mining operations in Australia is preferred;

• Well-developed communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) demonstrating the ability to interact with internal customers, external stakeholders and clients.
