The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand / Mechanical Fitter to join our tight-knit team and provide hands-on leadership across fixed-plant maintenance, with a strong focus on crushers and associated equipment.

This temp-to-permanent opportunity offers an attractive package, a balanced 8/6 and 7/7 roster and the chance to join a site that has received consistently positive feedback from our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mechanical fitters/ BMW and other trades undertaking fixed-plant maintenance

• Coordinate daily work fronts, labour, tooling and materials

• Perform hands-on mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance and repair work

• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox meetings and task-specific safety discussions

• Ensure permits, isolations and site procedures are understood and followed

• Monitor work quality, productivity and schedule performance

• Identify and resolve operational issues as they arise

• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports and shift handovers

• Promote a positive, accountable and safety-focused team culture

Position Details

• Role: Leading Hand /Mechanical Fitter

• Roster: 8/6 – 7/7 (Days & Nights)

• Pay: Up to $80 - $90 per hour + super on all hours - temp to perm opportunity with an attractive package

• Work Type: Ongoing (temp-to-perm opportunities available) - This is not a backfill, or short-term gig moving around sites every couple of weeks - you get a stable crew and long-term work.

• Culture: We have guys working on site who have provided excellent feedback about the culture and working environment.

• Travel: FIFO from Perth or DIDO from regional hubs

What You’ll Need

• An Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification

• Proven experience as a Leading Hand or senior Mechanical Fitter

• Strong fixed-plant maintenance experience

• Experience on crushers will be highly regarded

• The ability to lead from the front while remaining hands-on

• Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills

• A current driver’s licence
