About the role
THE ROLE
The Senior Project Officer will work as part of a team to develop and adapt policy,program documentation and processes to support programs and support services for people whoexperienced institutional child abuse and neglect.This includes the National Redress Scheme, Redress for Historical Institutional Abuse, Civil ClaimsRestorative Engagement Program and Pre-1990 care leaver support services. The role suits an experiencedand dynamic senior project officer who is a strategic thinker and experienced in working in a sensitive andcomplex environment.
The candidate must have an understanding of the organisational and service context and be highlycollaborative. The candidate will have sound policy and project management knowledge with a proven trackrecord of delivery. The candidate will be an excellent written and verbal communicator, able to summarisecomplex issues and ideas into digestible information. The candidate will be responsive to tasks, including theprovision of advice and responses in a timely manner and will be required to contribute to a variety of workpriorities within the Redress unit.
This position will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Department of Families, Fairness andHousing, support services, other government departments, senior executives, external stakeholders as wellas people who have experienced institutional child abuse and neglect.The role requires working from the office at 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne in accordance with the VictorianPublic Service Flexible Work Policy.
Please note: this position requires dealing with sensitive material that can be emotionally challenging.This role will best suit resilient and empathetic candidates with experience in dealing with sensitivematerial.
