The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Technician to join our service team.

This role is ideally suited to a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who enjoys both hands-on technical work and direct customer interaction. The successful applicant will work on specialised food processing and packaging equipment throughout Australasia.

This is not an entry-level technician position. We are seeking someone who can work independently, troubleshoot complex machinery faults and represent our company professionally at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of new processing and packaging equipment

• Mechanical assembly, alignment and machine upgrades

• Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing

• Fault finding across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems

• Machine inspections and condition reporting

• Customer training and technical support

• Preparation of service reports and maintenance documentation

• Liaising directly with customers and overseas equipment manufacturers

• Interstate and international travel

Essential Requirements

Applicants without the following will not be considered:

• Australian Certificate III Engineering Mechanical Trade (or equivalent recognised trade qualification)

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Technician or Field Service Engineer

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting experience

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment documentation

• Experience with machinery installation, commissioning and maintenance

• Current unrestricted driver's licence

• Ability to travel regularly throughout Australia and New Zealand

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Highly Desirable

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

• Food processing equipment

• Packaging machinery

• Poultry, meat or seafood processing plants

• Conveyor systems

• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Industrial automation environments

• International field service experience

• Working at Heights

• Confined Space Entry

• First Aid certification

• Machine alignment and precision fitting

• Shutdown maintenance experience
