Quantity Surveyor/Estimator - Construction

As a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you’ll be a key member of the Sales Team, playing an important role in preparing accurate, competitive and well-documented project tenders.

This is a hands-on position where you’ll have the opportunity to contribute directly to continued business growth while developing your skills within established systems and processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates for projects ranging from $25K to $1M.

• Reviewing project plans, specifications and contract documents to determine the scope of work.

• Conducting material take-offs and accurately quantifying required materials.

• Engaging with subcontractors, including calling and confirming their interest in participating in tenders.

• Sourcing and obtaining competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.

• Analysing project costs, including labour, materials, equipment and overheads.

• Collaborating with project teams to assess project requirements and identify value engineering opportunities.

• Preparing comprehensive and competitive tender submissions, including pricing and non-pricing components, with a strong focus on presentation and branding.

• Monitoring market trends and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of current pricing.

• Following up on subcontractor and supplier quotes.

• Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database of tender documentation.

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Estimator who can work confidently in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will ideally have:

• A tertiary qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field (desirable).

• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Estimating role within the construction industry.

• Experience with simPRO, MS Project, EstimateOne and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A confident and assertive approach, particularly when coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.

• A strong eye for detail and a high standard of professional presentation.

• A proactive mindset and willingness to learn and work within established systems and processes.
