Join the TeamAs a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you’ll be a key member of the Sales Team, playing an important role in preparing accurate, competitive and well-documented project tenders.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll have the opportunity to contribute directly to continued business growth while developing your skills within established systems and processes.
Your ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:
Preparing accurate cost estimates for projects ranging from $25K to $1M.
Reviewing project plans, specifications and contract documents to determine the scope of work.
Conducting material take-offs and accurately quantifying required materials.
Engaging with subcontractors, including calling and confirming their interest in participating in tenders.
Sourcing and obtaining competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
Analysing project costs, including labour, materials, equipment and overheads.
Collaborating with project teams to assess project requirements and identify value engineering opportunities.
Preparing comprehensive and competitive tender submissions, including pricing and non-pricing components, with a strong focus on presentation and branding.
Monitoring market trends and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of current pricing.
Following up on subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database of tender documentation.
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Estimator who can work confidently in a fast-paced construction environment.
You will ideally have:
A tertiary qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field (desirable).
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Estimating role within the construction industry.
Experience with simPRO, MS Project, EstimateOne and Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A confident and assertive approach, particularly when coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
A strong eye for detail and a high standard of professional presentation.
A proactive mindset and willingness to learn and work within established systems and processes.
