Senior Estimator

McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Engineering & Projects team in Adelaide.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role within our Precontracts team, delivering complex, multi-disciplinary tenders and helping secure major project wins across Australia.

As a trusted contributor to the tendering process, you’ll work on medium to large-scale opportunities spanning the Water, Defence, Resources, Industrial and Energy sectors giving you exposure to a diverse pipeline of technically challenging and high-profile projects.

Working alongside a highly capable and collaborative team, you’ll bring together technical expertise, commercial insight and strategic thinking to develop competitive submissions that drive business growth.

About the Role

This role offers variety and flexibility, with responsibility for leading estimating activities across a range of complex projects. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to develop high quality submissions, robust cost estimates and practical construction methodologies.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the preparation and delivery of detailed cost estimates
• Review and develop estimates using first principles and subcontractor inputs
• Manage tender submissions including EOIs and post tender activities
• Coordinate estimators, engineers and submissions teams
• Develop construction methodologies, programs and cost strategies
• Identify and manage commercial and technical risks and opportunities
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
• Support negotiations and project handover activities

What You’ll Bring

• 7–10+ years’ experience in construction estimating
• Experience delivering medium to large, multi-discipline tenders
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost structures
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and contribute to team outcomes
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or similar (desirable)
