Mechanic

About the role

Yarloop Tractor Repairs is a leading heavy equipment maintenance and rebuild company specialising in the repair, overhaul and remanufacture of mining and earthmoving components. We are looking for an experienced Mechanic to join our workshop team in Yarloop.

Key responsibilities

• Strip, inspect and assess mechanical components.

• Complete rebuilds of engines, transmissions, differentials, torque converters, final drives, wheel groups and hydraulic components.

• Interpret technical manuals, specifications and engineering drawings.

• Measure and assess component wear against OEM specifications.

• Perform testing and quality checks prior to component release.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.

• Work collaboratively with supervisors and fellow tradespeople to meet production schedules.

About you

• Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification.

• Previous experience rebuilding heavy mobile equipment components.

• Experience working on Caterpillar mining equipment (highly regarded).

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong understanding of safe work practices.

• Trade qualification in Mechanic or equivalent.

• Australian C Class Driver's Licence (minimum).
