Qantas Engineering keeps us at the forefront of aviation, caring and maintaining both the Qantas fleet, as well as aircraft for our customers across the Asia-Pacific region. Working with state-of-the-art equipment and resources, our shared commitment to professional excellence continues to keep our customers safe.
Your new position as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) will see you work within the Evacuation Systems Workshop (Aircraft slides and rafts). In this role you will be responsible for the repair, overhaul and maintenance of the latest aircraft evacuation equipment including slides, reservoirs and gas generators for Qantas Group and customer airlines
For the successful candidate, there will also be the potential for product certification qualification (NLCS) to be attained after a minimum qualification period (subject to performance and availability).
You’ll have –
Certificate IV in Aeroskills, or the ability to successfully transfer your qualifications through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) processPrior experience working with safety equipment’s maintenance is advantageousDemonstrated ability to work as part of a teamCommitment to being customer focused with flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as requiredGood communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staffHigh attention to detail and ability to comply with Qantas Maintenance proceduresAn understanding of the obligations on employees and employers required by the relevant regulators including CASA, FAA and WorkSafeThe ability to work to tight timelines with minimal supervisionFlexibility with the ability to meet changing departmental requirements
