Assistant Club Manager

About the role

As the Assistant Club Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Club Manager in running the club day-to-day and owning the member experience end-to-end. That means sales, team, floor standards, community presence, and everything in between. You'll report directly to the Club Manager and will have a real say in the culture and tone of the club community you build. Club staffed hours are between 9am to 7pm, and you will be required to work a rotating roster shared over 2 shifts with your club manager: 9am to 6pm or 10am to 7:00pm with a 45 min lunch break and 15 min morning tea. Roster will be worked out in advance with the Club Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full day-to-day operations of the club

• Ensure the club is clean, safe, well-maintained, well-stocked, and compliant at all times

• Support opening/closing procedures and contractor relationships

• Ensure systems, processes, and Snap Fitness brand standards are followed

• Hit foundation member target and ongoing sales goals

• Manage enquiries, lead tours, close sign-ups, and follow up leads

• Work with local area marketing initiatives, events, and member communications

• Create engaging content across social media

• Coach and motivate the team to deliver exceptional service

• Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve member issues professionally

About you

• A strong sales operator who is comfortable on the phone, on the floor, and sitting across from a potential member

• Warm, direct, and great with people (members and staff)

• Organised enough to handle the back end: admin, reports, WHS, point of sale, debt collection

• Gym or fitness industry experience is ideal, but experience from hospitality, retail, or another service industry with strong sales and leadership is valued

• Minimum Cert III in Fitness is preferred, or willingness to attain basic fitness accreditation

• Current First Aid + CPR accreditation preferred

• Current Working With Children Check (or willing to get it before opening)

• Live in or near Newcastle and know the area
