Hofmann Engineering’s established engineering workshop in Perth, is seeking to fill the position of Trades Assistant. This will suit an energetic person who takes pride in their work and work area, is punctual, and has excellent communication skills.

About the Role:

We are seeking hands-on Trades Assistants in join various departments to support the preparation, maintenance and operation of equipment and materials. The role contributes to production and maintenance activities, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance tasks as required.

• Ensure all job cards are completed accurately and signed off by both yourself and your supervisor upon completion of work.

• Clean and prepare work surfaces and equipment prior to and following tasks.

• Position items correctly in machines as per job specifications.

• Assemble and dismantle components or parts as required for production or maintenance processes.

• Inspect parts for cleanliness and verify that previous inspection clearances have been completed.

• Complete all required paperwork for each item undergoing heat treatment or processing.

• Maintain a clean and organised workspace in accordance with 5S principles.

• Conduct regular inspections of jigs and fixtures and report any issues or irregularities

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Forklift ticket essential.

• Good practical and communication skills.

• Ability to work methodically and efficiently.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and use technical equipment.

• Awareness of safety and quality standards.

• Good numeracy and computer skills.
