About the role
Makinson d'Apice is a progressive law firm built on it's 170 year history of excellence for incredible clients by exceptional lawyers. As a mid-sized firm with 220 plus staff, we are large enough to provide diversity of clients and challenging work, yet small enough to help grow your career.
We are currently seeking to hire a senior employment lawyer, this is a newly created role as an additional stream of work has come from a number of private sector clients. Reporting into our Partners Jackie Waugh and Alex Kohn you will manage your own file load including advice work and appearances in various employment related courts and tribunals. Matters will involve contractual advice, drafting and interpretation of workplace policies, interpretation of award and industrial instruments, restraint of trade, unfair dismissal claims, workplace bullying including stop bullying orders, discrimination, WHS obligations and disputes and privacy and confidentiality.
This is a broad role where no two days are the same, you will have autonomy and be very involved with the client. We offer a flexible working environment and a genuinely friendly and down to earth culture where we truly believe in work/life balance! Ideally you will have a minimum of 4 years' PAE from another private law firm acting for Employers or from the public sector. Part-time (3-4 days per week) are on offer for the right candidate.
