Fractional eCommerce Manager 

City Chic is looking for an experienced fractional eCommerce Manager to join our digital team and help drive the day-to-day performance of our online business. 

This isn’t a traditional full-time role. We’re looking for an experienced eCommerce operator who can step in 3-4 days per week, quickly get across the business, and take genuine ownership of online trade, optimisation and execution. 

You’ll work closely with our eCommerce, CRM, Digital Marketing, Creative and Merchandising teams to make sure our sites are trading hard, presenting brilliantly and converting every opportunity. 

What you’ll own 

• Daily and weekly eCommerce trade performance, including sales, conversion, AOV, traffic and margin 

• Building and executing the online trade calendar across promotions, campaigns and new product launches 

• Identifying performance opportunities and turning them into clear actions 

• Website merchandising, navigation, product visibility and customer journey optimisation 

• Coordinating site updates, landing pages, promotional changes and campaign execution 

• Working with CRM and Performance Marketing teams to ensure activity is commercially aligned 

• Monitoring product and category performance and identifying opportunities to maximise newness, best sellers and key categories 

• Supporting CRO initiatives, onsite testing and continual improvements to the customer experience 

• Providing clear, commercially focused reporting and recommendations 

• Keeping multiple stakeholders moving and making sure things actually get done 

Who we’re looking for 

You’ll probably have 5+ years of eCommerce experience, ideally within fashion, retail or another fast-moving DTC environment. 

More importantly, you’ll be someone who: 

• Is highly commercial and understands the numbers behind eCommerce 

• Knows how to trade a website, not simply maintain one 

• Can look at performance and quickly identify what needs to change 

• Is comfortable operating independently and making decisions 

• Has strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger commercial picture 

• Moves quickly and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment 

• Is equally comfortable analysing yesterday’s results and getting today’s homepage changed 

• Can confidently work across Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, CRM and Technology teams 

• Brings ideas, challenges thinking and takes ownership rather than waiting for a brief 

Experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento), GA4, Nosto or similar personalisation/merchandising platforms would be advantageous. 

The setup 

This is a freelance / fractional engagement, ideally a minimum of 3-4 days per week, but we are open to full-time hours. 

We’re open to someone Sydney-based who can spend some time with the team in person, or a hybrid arrangement for the right person.
