About the role
An opportunity has become available for an experienced People & Culture professional to join a well-established organisation with a sizeable and diverse workforce.
Working as part of an experienced People & Culture function, this position will partner with leaders across multiple areas of the organisation, providing practical advice on day-to-day people matters while contributing to broader projects designed to strengthen the employee experience and organisational capability.
This is not a narrowly defined advisory role. You’ll work across a varied portfolio spanning employee relations, leader coaching, workforce initiatives, engagement, organisational effectiveness and the ongoing improvement of people practices.
It will suit someone who is comfortable operating at pace, can quickly build credibility with leaders and enjoys moving between immediate operational priorities and longer-term initiatives.
The RoleWorking closely with leaders and colleagues across the People & Culture function, your responsibilities will include:
Partnering with leaders to provide practical, commercially considered people advice
Managing and advising on employee relations matters including performance, conduct, grievances and other workplace issues
Coaching leaders to build confidence and capability in managing their teams
Supporting initiatives focused on engagement, retention and the broader employee experience
Contributing to workforce and organisational effectiveness projects
Providing input into role design, workforce structures and remuneration-related activities
Supporting the ongoing development and implementation of people policies, processes and governance
Using workforce insights and people data to identify trends, risks and areas of opportunity
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop practical and scalable people solutions
Contributing to broader People & Culture projects as priorities evolve
You’ll be an experienced People & Culture practitioner who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical and solutions-focused approach.
Ideally, you will bring:
Around 4+ years’ experience across HR advisory, generalist or business partnering positions
Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary employee relations practices
Confidence managing a range of employee relations matters and providing advice to leaders
Experience working with operational leaders and navigating competing priorities
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility quickly
Commercial judgement and an ability to assess people matters from both a business and employee perspective
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a broader People team
Experience supporting a dispersed, multi-location or operational workforce will be advantageous
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business or a related discipline will also be viewed favourably.
