Experienced Dental Assistant

Smile On Canberra is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team and play an important role in delivering exceptional clinical care and patient experiences.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, organised and genuinely enjoys working alongside clinicians in a busy dental practice.

About the Role
As an experienced Dental Assistant, you’ll work closely with our dentists and the wider team to ensure appointments run smoothly and patients receive the highest standard of care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Chairside assisting across a range of dental procedures

• Preparing surgeries and maintaining a high standard of clinical cleanliness

• Sterilisation and instrument reprocessing

• Taking and processing dental radiographs, where qualified

• Supporting clinicians during procedures and anticipating their needs

• Preparing materials, instruments and equipment

• Maintaining accurate clinical records

• Providing patients with a warm, reassuring and professional experience

• Maintaining infection control and workplace health and safety standards

• Monitoring clinical stock levels and assisting with stock management

• Maintaining equipment and reporting any issues promptly

• Working collaboratively with the entire practice team

• Stock Management and control

• Reception Duties if required

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent

• Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilisation procedures

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills

• A calm, professional and friendly manner

• Confidence working in a busy clinical environment

• Strong attention to detail

• A proactive approach and willingness to help wherever needed

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A genuine commitment to patient care
