Pool Lifeguard

At Ku-ring-gai Fitness & Aquatic Centre, our lifeguards are more than pool supervisors — they're the calm, confident professionals who help keep children, families and community members safe in and around the water.

Every shift is different. From active pool supervision and water safety education to emergency response and customer service, lifeguards play a critical role in creating safe, welcoming and enjoyable aquatic environments for everyone.

Whether you're already qualified or looking to start your journey in aquatics, we'd love to hear from you.

As a lifeguard, you'll:

• Actively supervise pools and surrounding aquatic environments
• Promote safe behaviours and educate patrons on water safety
• Respond to emergencies and provide First Aid when required
• Conduct safety checks and report hazards, incidents and concerns
• Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming facility
• Deliver outstanding customer service to a diverse community

This is a role for people who stay alert, communicate confidently and enjoy making a positive difference every day.

The most successful lifeguards aren't just strong swimmers — they're people who genuinely care about others and take pride in creating safe environments.

This role may be a great fit if you:

• Stay calm and focused in busy or high-pressure situations
• Notice details and maintain strong situational awareness
• Enjoy helping people and being part of the community
• Communicate confidently and respectfully with a wide range of people
• Take responsibility and can be relied upon to do the right thing
• Enjoy active, hands-on work rather than sitting behind a desk
• Want to develop valuable skills in safety, leadership and emergency response

We'd love to hear from you if you hold:

• Current Pool Lifeguard Licence (RLSSA or equivalent)
• Current First Aid qualification
• Current CPR certification
• Current Working with Children Check
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety
