Job Overview
The Business Development Manager reports directly to the Regional Manager is responsible for recruiting new brokers and broker groups to Viking Financial Solutions, while also managing and growing existing broker relationships across the Residential and Commercial lending space.
This role plays a critical part in driving network growth by proactively identifying, engaging, and onboarding high-quality broker groups, while also supporting the ongoing success of existing brokers using the Viking Aggregation platform. This includes assisting with onboarding requirements, general enquiries, compliance support, and ensuring strong adoption of Viking’s products and services.
The role also acts as a key liaison point for lenders, industry bodies, and other external stakeholders, helping to strengthen Viking’s market presence and strategic partnerships.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Sydney, NSW. The position requires regular time in the office for collaboration, meetings, and stakeholder engagement, with flexibility to work remotely where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify, target, and engage high-performing broker groups aligned with Viking’s growth strategy
· Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective brokers and broker groups through networking, referrals, and industry engagement
· Support the end-to-end recruitment process including outreach, needs analysis, commercial discussions, and onboarding coordination
· Assist new brokers with onboarding requirements, platform training and support, general enquiries, and technical assistance
· Provide ongoing support, training, and facilitate events to engage, educate, and strengthen relationships with existing broker partners
· Organise, attend, and present at industry events and support brokers in hosting local market events
· Maintain relationships with lenders, industry bodies, and other external stakeholders
· Assist with enhancing relationships with all stakeholders within Viking and external with lender partners and industry bodies
· Collaborate with interstate counterparts to ensure consistency of broker support and national alignment
· Promote and cross-sell Viking and partner products and services (including asset finance, white label products, insurance, etc) across the broker network to drive adoption
· Maintain strong awareness of mortgage broking compliance obligations, including NCCP and Best Interests Duty, and promote adherence across the network
Requirements
· Strong understanding of commercial and residential broker aggregation.
· Minimum 3+ years’ experience in third-party lending, aggregation, or broker-facing roles
· Existing broker network highly regarded
· Strong stakeholder management skills (internal and external)
· Proven ability to present effectively to both small and large audiences
· Experience in coaching and supporting SME/business relationships (desirable)
· Strong CRM discipline and sales pipeline management skills
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Strong understanding of compliance frameworks within mortgage broking (NCCP, Best Interests Duty)
