Job Title: Kitchen & Warehouse Assistant – Casual

Location: 18 Anderson Street, Banksmeadow

Working Hours: 3 weekdays per week
Roster: 2 days in Kitchen/Retail Production, generally Monday–Wednesday; 1 day in Warehouse, generally Thursday or Friday

Working Hours: 7.30 AM - 3.30 PM

Note:

• This is a Casual Position
• You will be required to have the correct Visa Status to be eligible to work up to 24 hrs. per week.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen & Warehouse Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role involving two days per week assisting with kitchen and retail production duties, and one day assisting the Warehouse Manager with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse.

The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, retail packaging, dispensing and labelling, as well as receiving, organising and preparing stock for our stores.

Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen & Retail Production

• Assist with basic kitchen preparation and food production.
• Assist the chef with day-to-day kitchen duties as required.
• Pack and dispense retail products.
• Label retail products accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with the setup, operation and breakdown of the kitchen and retail production areas.
• Maintain clean, organised and food-safe work areas.
• Follow established food safety, hygiene and production procedures.

Warehouse

• Assist the Warehouse Manager with daily warehouse operations.
• Receive deliveries including milk, meat, vegetables, dairy and other food supplies.
• Check and put incoming stock away correctly.
• Organise and maintain the warehouse and cool room.
• Keep loading docks clean, tidy and organised.
• Pack dry-store goods and other supplies for our stores.
• Prepare stock and orders for evening delivery drivers.
• Assist with general warehouse duties and housekeeping.
• Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications / Experience

• Previous experience in a kitchen, food production, hospitality, or warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and safe food-handling practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Physically capable of working in a kitchen and warehouse environment, including handling stock.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to contribute as part of a team.
