About the role

Prestige Universal Mining Pumps is seeking a Pump Fitter or mechanically minded person to join our team in Kalgoorlie, WA 6430. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the maintenance, assembly, and installation of mining pump systems. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our pumping equipment operates at peak efficiency, directly contributing to the success of our mining sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, and service mining pump equipment in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on pump systems to identify and resolve mechanical issues

• Inspect mechanical components for wear, damage, or malfunction and recommend repairs or replacements

• Test pump systems following completion of work to verify performance meets required standards

• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and service work completed

• Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures whilst working in the workshop

• Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding technical issues and project progress

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a pump fitter, mechanical fitter, or similar role within the trades and services sector

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in assembling, maintaining, and repairing.

Sound knowledge of mechanical principles of pump operation

• Competency with standard mechanical tools and precision measuring instruments

• Current driver's licence.

• A commitment to health and safety compliance and working practices

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical fitting trades are advantageous
