Your Opportunity

Join a passionate team helping children and young people remain safely at home with their families. As a Child and Family Practitioner within our Functional Family Therapy (FFT) program, you'll work intensively with families experiencing complex challenges, supporting them to build stronger relationships, improve safety and create lasting positive change.

Using an evidence-based, strengths-focused approach, you'll partner with children, young people and their caregivers to identify goals, build resilience and develop practical strategies that improve outcomes for the whole family. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while being supported through regular supervision, ongoing professional development and a collaborative team environment.

How You Will Contribute

• Deliver intensive family-centred therapeutic interventions using the Functional Family Therapy model.
• Partner with children, young people and families to improve safety, wellbeing and family functioning.
• Conduct assessments and develop tailored behaviour change plans that build on family strengths.
• Engage and motivate families experiencing high levels of complexity, conflict or child protection concerns.
• Facilitate home visits and provide practical, evidence-informed support to achieve family goals. Please note the majority of these sessions are after hours to accommodate all family members to attend.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, child protection and community services to strengthen supports around families.
• Maintain accurate case notes, documentation and outcome reporting.
• Participate in reflective supervision, ongoing learning and fidelity requirements of the FFT model.

Your Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting families and creating positive outcomes for children and young people. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Welfare or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Experience working with children, young people and families experiencing complex needs.
• Demonstrated capability to identify, assess and respond to child protection concerns.
• Strong engagement skills and the ability to build trust with families who may be reluctant to access support.
• Experience using strengths-based, therapeutic and family-centred approaches.
• Well-developed assessment, case management and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to travel as required.
