Designer / Senior Designer — Experiential & Spatial Design
Little & Large is looking for a designer to join our in-house creative team on the Gold Coast.We create custom events, brand activations and immersive experiences for some of Australia's leading brands and shopping centres. Our work sits somewhere between graphic design, spatial design, events and real-world making — so we're looking for a multidisciplinary designer who gets excited about seeing an idea go from a sketch on screen to something people can actually walk into, interact with and experience.
This isn't a role where you'll be working on one type of project or one part of the design process. You'll be involved from the initial brief and concept development, through client presentations and refinement, right through to artwork, production and seeing the finished project come to life.
What you'll be doingDeveloping creative concepts for events, activations and immersive spacesTurning ideas into strong, well-considered client presentations and creative decksCreating moodboards, visual identities, graphics and campaign assetsVisualising spatial concepts through renders, floor plans and elevationsPreparing detailed, production-ready artwork across print, signage and large-format applicationsWorking closely with our production team to consider materials, finishes, scale and how things will actually be builtPresenting and talking through creative concepts with clientsTaking ownership of projects from initial idea through to deliveryContributing ideas, references and fresh thinking to the wider creative team
We're looking for someone whoHas around 3–6+ years' experience in a design, agency or studio environmentHas a genuinely strong eye for design, typography, layout and visual storytellingIs highly confident across Adobe Creative SuiteCan develop a concept rather than simply execute oneIs comfortable preparing accurate artwork for production and working to scaleCan work autonomously, manage deadlines and move comfortably between multiple projectsEnjoys collaborating with designers, producers and fabricatorsUnderstands that great creative also needs to work within real-world budgets, timelines and build constraints
Experience in experiential, events, exhibitions, retail, environmental or spatial design would be a big advantage.
3D visualisation skills are also highly valued. But a strong emphasis on illustrator as a base design program.
More than anything, we're looking for someone with great creative instincts, a strong portfolio and an interest in making things happen in the real world.
A little about usWe're a hands-on team of designers, producers and makers based in Coomera on the Gold Coast. We design and produce our projects under one roof, which means our creative team works closely with the people who actually figure out how to build the things we dream up.The work is fast-moving, varied and sometimes a little weird — one week you might be designing a brand activation, the next a giant Christmas installation or an immersive school holiday experience.
This is an in-studio role based in Coomera, QLD.We're looking for someone based on the Gold Coast or Brisbane who can work with us in person.
