Fika on Brix is looking for an experienced Breakfast Chef to join our busy café kitchen. We’re a well-established, family-friendly café with a strong local following. We’re looking for someone who is confident working in a fast-paced breakfast and brunch environment and takes pride in producing consistently great food.

About the Role Working alongside our Head Chef and kitchen team, you’ll be involved in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, from preparation and service through to maintaining food quality, stock and kitchen standards. Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing, cooking and presenting breakfast and brunch dishes to a consistently high standard Managing your section efficiently during busy services Monitoring food quality, portioning and presentation

Assisting with menu planning, development and new dish ideas Preparing ingredients and completing daily mise en place Demonstrating strong knife skills and food preparation techniques

Supervising, guiding and supporting junior kitchen team members Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness Having a sound knowledge of food handling, storage, allergens and temperature control

Assisting with stock management, ordering, rotation and stocktake Monitoring wastage and helping maintain appropriate food costs Ensuring correct labelling, storage and FIFO procedures

Maintaining kitchen equipment, work areas and overall kitchen standards Working closely with the Head Chef and wider team to ensure smooth kitchen operations About

You We’re looking for someone who: Has previous experience as a Breakfast Chef or in a busy café/brunch kitchen

Is confident cooking across a high-volume breakfast service Has strong cooking, preparation and knife skills Has good food safety knowledge and practices

Can work quickly without compromising quality or presentation Is organised and able to manage prep and service priorities Is comfortable supervising and supporting junior chefs and kitchen staff

Has an understanding of stock control, food wastage and kitchen organisation Communicates well and works collaboratively as part of a team Is reliable, punctual and takes ownership of their role

Can remain calm and organised during busy periods What We Offer:
