About the role
Hayes Park Public School serves a growing community in suburban Dapto on the western foreshores of Lake Illawarra. The school's enrolment has steadily increased to around 610 students, up from 588 in 2021. The school consists of 23 mainstream classes and 3 support unit classes catering for students with autism and/or a moderate intellectual disability. These classes are supported by a special education teacher and a Student Learning and Support Officer (SLSO). Additionally, in 2027, Hayes Park Public School will expand to include a preschool, further supporting the educational journey of the local community's children from early learning onwards.
The student body reflects a diverse and changing demographic, with 9% from non-english speaking background (NESB) and 10% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.

The professional teaching staff are committed to implementing best practice and delivering quality educational experiences.
Specific Selection CriteriaAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special NotesThe commencement date for this position will be day 1 of the 2027 school year.
