Accommodation Manager & Administration (Front Office) Manager

Run the accommodation side of one of Queensland's most iconic coastal venues

The Straddie Hotel has relaunched, and we're looking for an Admin & Accommodation Manager to take ownership of the accommodation business end to end - reception, housekeeping, and everything behind the scenes that keeps it running.

About Us

Moreton Hospitality operates a portfolio of venues across South-East Queensland including The Straddie Hotel and a number of associated Cellarbrations bottle shops.

The Straddie Hotel sits directly across from Cylinder Beach on North Stradbroke Island. Following a full redevelopment, it now features a high-volume bistro, four bars, gaming, function spaces, 15 accommodation rooms and 3 bottle shops across the island, alongside the Waves Apartments letting business.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll lead reception, housekeeping and cleaning, and hold the administration of the accommodation business.

• Lead the reception team and work the desk yourself - check-ins, check-outs, guest questions and everything in between

• Manage housekeeping and cleaning, including daily inspections, room readiness, training and standards

• Handle guest complaints and escalations at first point of contact

• Own the rosters across reception and housekeeping, and manage labour costs to budget

• Keep reservations, rate loading and third party booking channels accurate and current

• Run the back office - daily banking, floats, invoicing, debtor follow-up, supplier accounts and reconciliation

• Act as Designated Person in Charge under the Corporate Letting Licence, and manage individual letting agreements with apartment owners

• Distribute the trust account and complete month end reconciliation for the accommodation business

• Report on occupancy, rate and revenue to the GM

What You'll Bring

• Experience in accommodation, front office or hotel management, ideally across both guest-facing and administrative functions

• Strong administration and numeracy - you're comfortable with reconciliation, banking and month end

• Confidence leading a small team and holding standards consistently

• Familiarity with a PMS or accommodation booking system

• Genuine guest focus, and the willingness to be on the desk rather than behind a door

• Full Australian working rights

Experience under a Queensland corporate letting licence is an advantage but not essential.

If you already call the island home, we'd love to hear from you, and applicants with their own accommodation on the island will be viewed favourably. If you're open to relocating, there are plenty of rentals available right now during the low season.

Limited shared staff accommodation may also available for a fixed weekly cost.

The one practical note: the island is ferry-access only, so you'll need to be comfortable with timetables and a venue that runs differently to a mainland site.
