1) Lead the workshop. Keep the machines moving. Make your mark.

Heavy Lift Forklifts is looking for an experienced and motivated Head Workshop Mechanic to join our team in Bayswater, Victoria.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on mechanic who is ready to step into a leadership role and take ownership of a busy workshop, while still getting stuck into the tools when required.

The Role

As our Head Workshop Mechanic, you will play a key role in keeping our customers' forklift fleets operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating day-to-day workshop operations

• Diagnosing, servicing and repairing forklifts and associated equipment

• Managing workshop workflow, jobs and priorities

• Supporting and mentoring other workshop technicians

• Carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs

• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard

• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop

• Liaising with service staff, customers and management

• Helping identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults

• What We're Looking For

  We're looking for someone who:

  • Has strong experience as a forklift, heavy diesel or automotive mechanic

  • Has excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Is confident working independently and taking responsibility

  • Can lead a team and keep a workshop running efficiently

  • Takes pride in quality workmanship

  • Has a strong commitment to workplace safety

  • Holds a current Australian driver's licence

  • Has forklift industry experience (highly regarded)

2) On the road service and repairs you will embark in a brand new fully equipped van to work on our customer forklifts, Trucks, and other types of equipment. You will find yourself traveling from site, or spending days at one.

Position: Forklift Repair Technician.
Location: Melbourne East & All over greater and outer Melbourne.
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on forklifts and related equipment.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery.

• Conduct thorough inspections and identify potential problems before they escalate.

• Utilize diagnostic tools and manuals to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure timely repairs , customer satisfaction and complete relevant paper work

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a forklift repair technician or similar role preferred.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality workmanship and safety.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
