Senior Pharmacist - Clinical Trials

About the Role:

This is a permanent, full-time position within the Pharmacy Department, Division of Access and Clinical Operations. You will provide senior clinical and operational expertise within the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Service to ensure the safe, effective and compliant delivery of clinical trials and novel therapies. You will play a key role in service development, quality improvement, education, research support and stakeholder engagement, enabling equitable access to clinical research opportunities for eligible patients at The Royal Children's Hospital.

Internally, this position may also be known and/or referred to as: Senior Clinical Trials Pharmacist.

Classification for this position is in accordance with Award 12 - Pharmacists. 

Depending on experience and qualifications, this will range from SX6 (Grade 3, Year 1) to SX81 (Grade 3, Year 4), from $108,820.40 to $123,905.60 per annum, plus superannuation.

What you’ll achieve:

• Deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services supporting clinical trials, advanced therapies and novel treatment programs
• Provide expert clinical advice and support to multidisciplinary teams, investigators, sponsors and research stakeholders
• Coordinate and oversee the dispensing, preparation and management of clinical trial medications, including sterile and genetically modified organism (GMO) therapies
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, medication safety and service development initiatives within the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Service

Your skills and experience:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia through AHPRA
• Demonstrated clinical leadership experience and the ability to work effectively as a senior member of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience in clinical trials and/or advanced therapies is highly desirable
• Post graduate qualification or working towards

About the Department:

The Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive pharmacy services across The Royal Children's Hospital, supporting safe and effective medication management for children and young people. The Clinical Trials Pharmacy Service has experienced significant growth and works closely with investigators, Murdoch Children's Research Institute, the University of Melbourne and multidisciplinary clinical teams to facilitate clinical trials and advanced therapies for paediatric patients.

Other requirements:

• Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
• Valid Working with Children Check
