Coordinator of Nursing

Position Profile: The role provides high level nursing clinical leadership, management and governance within the WACHS Cancer Services team to ensure effective, efficient and safe service provision. Provides support to the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery in developing and implementing the strategic directions for WACHS Cancer Services including progression of the health reform strategy, continuous quality improvement and improving patient safety.

A comprehensive understanding of outpatient cancer services and the ability to optimise care pathways for rural and remote communities. Experience in leveraging virtual care and digital health solutions to deliver innovative, contemporary cancer services. Skilled collaborators who thrive in multidisciplinary environments, bringing diverse teams together to achieve consistent, high-quality care. Strategic thinkers with a passion for innovation, equity, and improving patient outcomes across WA. 

This is a Permanent Full Time appointment.

Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. 1. Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse and / or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
2. Demonstrated record of achievement in leadership and organisational development at a nursing management level within a complex, dynamic health service environment
3. Demonstrates contemporary knowledge of professional issues and trends with a particular focus on rural and remote service delivery and innovative health reform
4. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to cultivate teamwork and demonstrated application of computer literacy and information management/literacy
5. Demonstrated analytical, financial, strategic management and project management skills and Demonstrated knowledge and application of human resource management principles
6. Demonstrated experience in the application of continuous quality improvement principles including managing change and implementation and evaluation of integrated clinical governance strategies.
