Skilled Labourer

About the role

We are seeking a Skilled Labourer to join the team at Coe Constructions Pty Ltd. This is a full-time position based on the Gold Coast. As a Skilled Labourer, you will play a vital role in supporting our construction projects from initial site preparation through to completion. This position is essential to our operations, ensuring that all groundwork, material handling, and site maintenance tasks are executed efficiently and safely. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople and supervisors, contributing to the successful delivery of quality construction projects across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain construction sites, including site setup and waste management

• Assist skilled tradespeople with tasks such as concreting, excavation, and material handling

• Operate basic construction equipment and hand tools safely and effectively

• Maintain accurate records of materials used, inventory levels, and daily site activities

• Support health and safety standards on site by following all procedures and reporting hazards immediately

• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment safely across the construction site

• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and site areas to ensure optimal working conditions

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate work activities

What we're looking for

• Certificate III in Construction or equivalent qualification in a construction-related trade

• Proven experience as a Labourer or in a similar construction support role, ideally 2+ years

• Strong understanding of construction safety practices, including familiarity with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations

• Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one immediately

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks in varying weather conditions

• Competency with basic hand tools and power tools commonly used in construction

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to following instructions

• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic demonstrating commitment to quality outcomes

• Current driver's licence for site-to-site travel and material collection
