AI Lead - Legal services

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this firm-wide leadership role is responsible for driving the adoption, integration and ongoing evolution of AI across the legal firm's practice groups and business services teams. It is a rare opportunity to build a function from the ground up within a firm with both the investment and the appetite to genuinely lead the market on legal AI.

You will partner with partners, lawyers and support staff to identify where AI can meaningfully improve legal work product, efficiency and client service, guiding effective prompt engineering, supporting collaborative AI tooling, and designing training and change management programs that embed new ways of working. You will act as the firm's internal point of expertise on AI, and work closely with Technology, Human Resources, Knowledge and Risk to ensure its use is consistent with the firm's policies and professional obligations.

This role sits at the intersection of technology and relationships — success will depend as much on your ability to build trust and influence across the firm as on your technical expertise.

• Drive the adoption, integration and ongoing evolution of AI across the firm's practice groups and business services teams

• Partner with partners, lawyers and support staff to identify where AI can meaningfully improve legal work product, efficiency and client service

• Experience within a law firm, in-house legal team or legal technology environment

• Demonstrated, hands-on experience with AI tools and prompt engineering — Harvey, ChatGPT or comparable enterprise platforms

• The ability to translate technical concepts clearly for non-technical audiences, from senior partners through to support staff

• A collaborative, approachable and service-oriented style, with the credibility to influence adoption across the firm

• Sound judgement in balancing innovation with confidentiality and professional obligations

• A track record of working effectively across both fee-earning and business services teams
