About the role
The Interim General Manager provides organisational leadership and management for First Nations Fashion and Design Indigenous Corporation (FNFD) during an interim period of organisational development and strengthening. Working under the direction of the FNFD Board and alongside the Creative Lead, Programs Lead and Operations Coordinator, the Interim General Manager is responsible for organisational leadership, financial oversight, people and culture, governance, funding relationships, risk management and the sustainable operation of FNFD. The role provides clear organisational leadership while ensuring FNFD's creative and cultural vision remains community-led and aligned with the organisation's purpose.
Key responsibilities
Provide day-to-day leadership and management of FNFD
Translate Board priorities and organisational strategy into clear operational priorities
Coordinate organisational planning, resourcing and priorities across the team
Support a positive, culturally safe, accountable and collaborative workplace
Provide management and supervision of staff and contractors as required
Lead workforce planning, recruitment and performance management processes
Act as the primary management liaison with the FNFD Board
Maintain oversight of organisational budgets, cash flow, expenditure and financial performance
Lead or oversee major funding applications, negotiations and funding agreements
Maintain oversight of organisational risk, legal obligations and compliance requirements
