UpBuild Constructions | Central Coast, NSW | Full-time
About UpBuild Constructions
At UpBuild Constructions, we’re committed to delivering A Higher Standard of Construction.
For over a decade, UpBuild Constructions has served as a critical infrastructure partner for the growth of Regional NSW. As one of the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Region’s most trusted commercial construction companies, we deliver complex government, education, health, commercial and hospitality projects where quality, governance and operational excellence are non-negotiable.
Our reputation has been built on delivering technically complex projects within live environments while maintaining exceptional standards of safety, compliance, workmanship and stakeholder engagement. From schools and health facilities to community and commercial assets, our clients trust us because we consistently deliver with professionalism, integrity and precision.
We’re entering an exciting stage of growth and are looking for an experienced Carpenter who shares our commitment to quality workmanship, takes genuine pride in their craft and wants to build a long-term career with UpBuild.
The Opportunity
Working alongside our Site Supervisors and project teams, you’ll play an important hands-on role in delivering a diverse portfolio of commercial, government and community construction projects across Newcastle, the Hunter and Central Coast.
This is an opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who cares about doing things properly.
You’ll undertake varied carpentry and construction works, work collaboratively with subcontractors and other trades, solve problems on site and help maintain the quality, safety and professionalism our clients expect from UpBuild.
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t need to be told to care about the details. You take ownership of your work, respect the site and the people around you, and want to be part of a team with high standards.
About You
You’re an experienced Carpenter who takes genuine pride in delivering quality work.
You understand that being a great tradesperson is about more than technical ability. It’s about your attitude, reliability, communication, attention to detail and the standard you set every day on site. You are someone who:
Takes pride in quality workmanship and believes the details matter.
Has a strong work ethic and turns up ready to contribute.
Works with integrity and does the right thing, even when no one is watching.
Takes personal responsibility for the quality and completion of your work.
Is practical, solutions-focused and able to think ahead.
Communicates clearly and respectfully.
Works well independently while being a genuine team player.
Looks after tools, materials, equipment and the project environment.
Maintains a clean, organised and professional work area.
Has an uncompromising commitment to Work Health & Safety and understands their personal responsibility for ensuring everyone goes home safe.
Represents UpBuild professionally and understands that every person on site contributes to the client experience and our reputation.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:
Trade qualification in Carpentry.
Demonstrated post-trade experience across commercial construction, refurbishment, fit-out or similar projects.
Strong all-round carpentry skills with a high standard of finish.
Experience working from construction drawings, specifications and details.
The ability to accurately set out, measure and plan works.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and sequencing.
Experience working within live environments such as schools, healthcare facilities, hospitality venues or operational commercial sites, highly regarded.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential issues before they affect the quality or progress of works.
A strong understanding of WHS requirements, SWMS and safe work practices.
Ability to work well alongside Site Supervisors, subcontractors and other trades.
Current Construction White Card and Australian driver’s licence.
Own basic hand tools appropriate to the trade.
Current Working with Children Check clearance (volunteer clearance not acceptable), or ability to acquire immediately if successful.
Why Join UpBuild Constructions?
You’ll join a business with genuine momentum, one that’s investing in its people, systems and long-term growth. We offer:
Competitive remuneration based on experience, capability and vehicle expectations.
Diverse commercial, government and community projects.
Opportunity to work alongside experienced construction professionals and quality subcontractors.
Long-term career development and progression within a growing and respected regional contractor.
Opportunities for high-performing team members to develop towards Leading Hand and Site Supervisor positions.
A fun, supportive and collaborative team that values initiative and hard work.
A culture built on integrity, quality, accountability, honesty and excellence.
The satisfaction of working on projects that have a genuine impact on the communities where we live and work.
If you’re a quality Carpenter who takes pride in your work, values being part of a professional team and wants the opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing construction business, we’re keen to hear from you. Come and be part of A Higher Standard of Construction.
